Protecting Water Resources
In this innovative lecture/lab course, I lead majors and non-majors on a journey through local and global water issues. Students get hands-on experience in the field of water science, explore environmental injustices, and practice the scientific method with their own hypothesis driven experiments. Often we participate in the Mayerson Student Philanthropy Project. |
Environmental Science Seminar
My approach to seminar is similar to a capstone experience. Students work either individually or in small teams with/for a local entity to gain experience in the field of environmental science. Projects culminate in a final product delivered to the organization, and students earn an experience to boost their resume. |
Introduction to Environmental Science
An introduction to the basic tenets of environmental science and issues including ecosystem components, human impacts on the functionality of ecosystems and the economic, political, and legal aspects of environmental decision making. The course is taught using a mixed method approach including team problem solving. |
